DOCKMATE®
DYNAMIC POSITIONING SYSTEM
NAMED 2024
TOP PRODUCT
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Dockmate®, manufacturer of advanced wireless remote-control systems for yachts, announced today that the Dockmate Positioning System (DPS) has been named one of Boating Industry’s Top Products for 2024.
To be eligible for consideration, products or services must have been introduced or significantly updated since January 2023. With hundreds of well-qualified submissions from manufacturers across every segment of the industry for consideration, selecting top products was no easy task for the Boating Industry editorial team. The winning products were chosen based on many factors such as their impact on the industry, innovation and how they advanced their category.
“We are always striving to provide boaters the best control of their vessels in every situation, and we’re very grateful to receive this recognition from Boating Industry,” said Marc Curreri, CEO, Dockmate US. “A great deal of research and time went into creating the DPS, so this recognition is very rewarding and we plan to continue dedicating ourselves to delivering the best possible products for our customers.”
The Dockmate DPS has two operating modes: one for use on the open water and another to use for short periods of time in close quarters. In the open water operating mode, DPS will use only the engines to keep the boat in its target position, which is ideal for short-handed crews and allows the captain to step away from the helm to tend to mooring lines and fenders before entering a marina. In the close quarters operating mode, DPS uses both the engines and bow and stern thrusters in concert to keep the vessel in its target position.
Dockmate Positioning System is driven by an IMU unit (which includes a compass, accelerometer and gyroscope) and a DPS Receiver installed within the vessel and connects to Dockmate GNSS antennas installed on the hardtop. It is designed for installation on any vessel that is a Dockmate compatible combination of engine and thruster controls. DPS is easy to install and requires only a short calibration sea trial.
